Schedule auto-payment

Available from the Professional plan

The Auto-payment feature in UpPromote will help you schedule payments to pay affiliates via PayPal. Scheduling auto-payment will help reduce manual work and make sure you pay affiliates on time. Let automation do its job!

How to set it up?

First of all, to enable Schedule auto-payment, you will need to enable PayPal integration. And you'll also need to enable PayPal as a payment method in Settings > Payment > Payment settings so your affiliates can provide their PayPal account information.

After that, please navigate to Settings > Payment > Schedule payment and activate Auto-payout with PayPal toggle.

Kindly then choose to Schedule payment on a Specific date or by Payment cycle. Please note that auto-payment will need to be set up at least 2 days before the payday so the payment can be rolled out successfully.

Specific date

This option helps you choose a certain day on which the system will process payments.

If you select Specific date, please choose a Payment day from the calendar as well as the Period of the payment. For example, if you select 26 as the Payment day and 1 month as the Period (see the image below), the system will automatically process payments to affiliates on the 26th of every month.

Payment cycle

If you decide to choose Payment cycle, the system will pay out automatically for you based on the cycle period you set up. Firstly, kindly choose the Period then select the First payment date.

For example, if you select the Period as 10 days and the First payment date is 17th February 2024 (see the image below), the system will pay out affiliates on 17th Feb first then 10 days later, on 27th Feb 2024, the affiliates will continue to be paid automatically.

Other settings

Aside from these required fields above that need to be filled out, you'll also have 2 other optional settings to set up, which are Minimum affiliate commission and Maximum payout limit.

With Minimum affiliate commission, you can set up the minimum commission that affiliates have to earn to be paid. For example, if you set this field to be $100 then all affiliates who have gained $100 commission or above will be paid out automatically when it comes to the payment date. Meanwhile, affiliates with an under $100 commission can be paid manually or wait until the next Auto-payout period when their total commission reaches the Minimum amount.

Another option is for you to set up a Maximum payout limit, which helps you set up a payout threshold for the system to avoid going over budget. For example, if you set this field to be $1000 and the total payout amount you need to pay affiliates this month is $1500, the Auto-payout function will be automatically postponed. However, you'll then need to pay affiliates manually this month.

However, even when the Auto-payout is discarded due to exceeded Maximum payout threshold, you'll still have the option to Auto-payout anyway in the PayPal Payout tab.

Terms and conditions

Please be aware that there are certain Terms and conditions that you'll need to agree to (check the boxes) before setting up Schedule auto-payment. Please find them below:

PayPal Payout

Once you enable Auto-payout with PayPal successfully, you can navigate to the Payouts tab > PayPal Payouts to review all related information including the Total payable commission as well as the Next payment date.

Kindly note that the Payable commission will be closed 12 hours before the Auto-payment time. From then, any additional approved commission will be counted toward the next Payout period.

Note: The system will automatically send you emails about the Total payable commission, Expected payout date, and Maximum payout limit exceeded (if any) 2 days and also 12 hours before the Auto-payment time. The Auto-payment will be processed on the payment date at 23h59' UTC +0 (UpPromote's system time zone) to ensure a consistent payout procedure for all merchants in different time zones.
